How do you create an object that
can represent the "Big Picture" of life on Earth? Then how might you imbue it with a sense of purpose? The Firetree Project attempts to answer these two questions with a 24-foot tall, steel and copper sculpture. It represents the people, animals, and plant life living on this planet. The sun is represented, as is the ever-present force of gravity. Add time, plus a touch of artistic whimsy and you will recognize the Firetree and within it, the tall flame that symbolizes the energy and vision that our global society holds to build a sheltering home with a strong planet future for all people on Earth. |
