You stand, as do all people, within the Firetree. It represents the interconnected web of our global society and suggests that we have transitioned from being mere inhabitants of this planet to becoming its caretakers. Fire in the tree declares that we now hold a power so great and so bright, that we might rise up to build a sheltering home with a strong planet future for all life on Earth.

Six years in the making, The Firetree Project was launched from a coffee shop conversation between two artists, Saige Baxter and Duncan MacDiarmid. On September 22, 2018, the Pittsburgh-based Society of Sculptors hosted the first Firetree Celebration in Millvale, PA. USA.​
